SKMM – Block File Sharing Now!

SKMM or Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has released an official order to block access to file sharing web sites to all ISPs in Malaysia. The order given based copyright grounds.
P1 Wimax provider uploaded the official letter to its wall on social media site – Facebook.  The move is quite drastic and will surely enrage internet users in Malaysia.

Access Denied
Access Denied

The blocking will be done via DNS resolution query ;  null route the query to deny access.  To  bypass the restriction simply  using  this method.
Many users use file sharing to send huge files to be distributed to friends or clients abroad. Since email transmission is impractical (25MB attachment max) and Anonymous FTP is no longer provided by web hosting provider due to security and abuse, users may have to use other file sharing services not listed in the list.

  1. They SUPPOSE to block all porn site. Yeah, most of the internet users will anger due to this but we still have others free dns like goolge dns & opendns. hehehe

  2. If SKMM wants to block file sharing websites, then go ahead, the Barisan Nasional government will eventually see its death in the next 13th general election.

The government wants to block the file sharing websites, they are digging really their own grave.

The moment the government block these websites, that is the moment all Malaysians block their support to Barisan Nasional!

  3. kenapalah mesti diblok web file sharing ni? teknologi dah tinggi, maju tapi nak mundur guna email segala. ada web file sharing, kan mudah nak kongsi file dan maklumat terkini. kata dunia tanpa sempadan, nampak sangat menipunya.. dah try nak buat sempadan pula. blok sajalah, masih juga dapat tembus kalau nak.. betul-betul menyedihkan.

  4. i don’t have anything to say… just that i surf the internet for porn. that the main reason why i use the service in the first place. i don’t give a **** to those that want to block my access.

  6. Tolong lah jgn di block file2 sharing tu..It’s ok for porn but for those nak sharing2 file ni kalau dah block memang payah lah nak transfer file. Please gov…

  7. internet kerajaan bayar nak wat per pun boleh aku tak kisah ni internet kami bayar bulan2 ingat free ke? da la buat produck filem muzik low class bila tak laku nak salahkan file sharing tak der benda lain ke kerajaan nak buat? ingat kami ni bodoh sangat ke? mentang laa baru2 ni filem malaysia/muzik tak berapa laku mula la kerajaan block file sharing nak paksa kami tengok filem/muzik cakar ayam! kerajaan tak payah laa nak bersembunyi bawah copyright dah jelas tujuan kerajaan block file sharing sebab filem/muzik tak berapa laku tu pasal korang kerajaan pakai teknik zaman batu.tunggu hari je kami rakyat nak baling batu balik kat korang kerajaan bile pilihanraya umum tiba nanti.ingat tu
